Capitalism, Conflict, and War May.01.2003
War is the ultimate “tool” for the capitalists to manipulate the masses and distort democracy, as has been painfully obvious. We must ask ourselves how peace is even possible while upholding an economic system that has as its very basis the irreconcilable conflict between class interests and the contradictions of over-production of goods/under-payment of employees (so as to line the owners’ pockets with profits), and of obscene wealth vis-à-vis massive poverty, unemployment and under-employment.
